Will the Minister of EDUCATION be pleased to state: the number of applications received for new affiliation of institutions/centres accredited by National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) during the period from 2020 to June 2025? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION (SHRI JAYANT CHAUDHARY) National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) does not affiliate schools but give accreditation to formal schools/recognized institutions as Accredited Institute (AI) for academic courses, Accredited Vocational Institute (AVI) for vocational courses and Accredited Agencies (AAs) for Open Basic Education.
The number of applications received and study centres accredited by National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) during the period from 2020 to June 2025 are as under – Year Application Received Accreditation granted 2020 561 333 2021 857 654 2022 1353 1288 2023 679 636 2024 1287 940 Up to June 2025 823 681 ***
