Will the PRIME MINISTER be pleased to state:-
(a) the details of Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) and their aims and objectives;
(b) whether NTPC has entered into NDAs with Rosatom of Russia and Franceโs EDF to explore collaboration on deploying large, pressurized heavy water reactor (PHWR) projects in the country;
(c) whether agreements span full lifecycle of nuclear projects i.e., from concept to commissioning;
(d) how Government would make sure that projects are indigenized;
(e) the details of target capacity set by NTPC and it's share in 100 GW roadmap set by Government; and

(a) A Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) is a mechanism to transfer information (may or may not be confidential) between related parties.
(b) Yes. NTPC Ltd. has signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) with Rosatom, Russia and EDF, France to explore collaboration on deploying large, pressurized water reactor projects.
(c) No. Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) is not related to specific project, it is only for exchange of information for a defined period.
(d) An indigenous three-stage nuclear power programme has been envisaged to promote self-reliance and support long term energy security in a sustainable manner. India has strong domestic technological capability. The indigenously developed PHWR technology already accounts for more than 75% of the existing nuclear power capacity of 8780 MW in the country.
(e) NTPC Ltd. intends to add 30 GW nuclear capacity out of the total 100 GW roadmap set by Government of India.
(f) Yes. The Government on September 11, 2024 accorded approval to the Anushakti Vidhyut Nigam Limited (ASHVINI), a Joint Venture (JV) of NPCIL (51%) and NTPCLimited (49%), to take up nuclear power generation and associated activities in accordance within the existing legal framework as a subsidiary of NPCIL. The Government has also approved implementation of Mahi Banswara 1 to 4 (4X700 MW) project by ASHVINI.
