Will the PRIME MINISTER be pleased to state:-
(a) whether the Government has reviewed the progress, increase in installed capacity and compliance with the scheduled timelines of the operational and under-construction nuclear power projects in the country since the year 2023-24 and if so, the details thereof, project-wise;
(b) whether the Government has assessed the steps taken to strengthen indigenous technology, domestic manufacturing, availability of nuclear fuel and safety standards in nuclear power generation and if so, the major findings and achievements thereof; and
(c) whether the Government is considering any new policy or additional initiatives to expand nuclear power generation capacity, encourage private industry participation and promote research and development keeping in view the growing energy requirements in the country and if so, the details thereof? (a) The nuclear power projects under implementation are continually reviewed at various levels in an effort to comply with scheduled timelines. There were ten reactors under construction/commissioning in the year 2023-24. Of these, three reactors totaling to a capacity of 2100 MW have commenced commercial operation. The details are
tabulated below:

Thus, there are presently ten reactors under construction totaling to a capacity of 8000 MW. The details are tabulated below:
