Will the Minister of EDUCATION be pleased to state:
(a) the number of sanctioned posts of teacher and those lying vacant out of them in Government schools of Dahod Lok Sabha Parliamentary Constituency under the Samagra Shiksha Scheme;
(b) the steps being taken by the Government to address the shortage of teachers in this tribal dominated region; and
(c) the number of teachers in said Constituency who have been imparted training in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020 during the last three years? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION (SHRI JAYANT CHAUDHARY)
(a) to (c): Education being a subject in the Concurrent List of the Constitution, the majority of schools in the country are under the administrative control of the respective State Governments and Union Territory Administrations. Recruitment, service conditions and deployment of teachers, including in backward and tribal areas, fall within the purview of the respective State Governments/UT Administrations. Teacher vacancies arise from time to time due to factors such as retirement, resignation, creation of new posts, rationalisation of teacher deployment and changes in enrolment. The data relating to sanctioned strength, vacant teaching posts is maintained by the respective State Governments and Union Territory Administrations.
The Central Government periodically advises States/UTs to fill vacant posts through transparent and merit-based recruitment processes.
Financial assistance is provided under the Samagra Shiksha scheme, based on State-specific proposals, for in-service training of teachers, school heads, teacher educators, master trainers, resource persons and education administrators, including induction training of newly recruited teachers at elementary and secondary levels, including those in rural and remote areas. These training programmes are implemented through SCERTs and DIETs as nodal agencies.
As informed by the state of Gujarat, a total of 46244 teachers of Dahod Lok Sabha Constituency have been provided the prescribed training during period of three years from 2023- 24 to 2025-26. ******
