Will the Minister of NEW AND RENEWABLE ENERGY be pleased to state:

(a) the details of installed wind energy capacity in the country;

(b) whether the pace of installation of wind energy capacity has been very slow during the last five years;

(c) if so, the details of installations of wind energy capacity, year and State-wise;

(d) whether there is potential of setting up new hybrid wind and solar projects across the country; and

(a) to (e): As on 30.06.2026, the cumulative installed wind energy capacity in the country is

57443.39 MW. The State-wise details of installed wind energy capacity are given in Annexure-I. During the last five years, the wind capacity addition is as follows;

During the last financial year 2025–26, a record wind capacity of 6.05 GW was installed, which is the highest annual wind capacity addition since the inception of wind energy sector in the country. Further, the year-wise and State-wise details of wind power capacity installed in the country during the last five years is given at Annexure- II.

Further, India has significant potential for the development of hybrid renewable energy projects, particularly Wind-Solar Hybrid Projects, across several States. The solar and wind potential of the country is 3443.37 GW and 1163.85 GW, respectively. The state wise details of solar and wind potential are given at Annexure-III. National Institute of Wind Energy

(NIWE) has developed a National Wind-Solar Hybrid Resource Map and issued in public domain.
