NOTIFICATION Delhi, the 5th August, 2026 No. F. 16(486)/UD/W/2025/Pt. File/021352785/588.—The following recruitment regulations made by the Delhi Water Board in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (m) sub-section (2) of section 109 read with sections 7 and 51 of the Delhi Water Board Act, 1998 (Delhi Act. No. 4 of 1998) and in Delhi Administration Notification No. 16 (486) /UD/W/ 2015/1229-30 dated 04-11-2015 except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such supersession for regulating the method of recruitment to the post of Sanitary Inspector Grade-I in the Delhi Water Board, are hereby published, namely: -

1. Short title and commencement: - (I) These regulations may be called the Delhi Water Board ‘Sanitary Inspector Grade-I” Recruitment Regulations, 2025.

(II) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Delhi Gazette.

2. Number of posts, classification and Level in the Pay matrix: The number of said posts, its classification and Level in the Pay matrix shall be as specified in columns (2) to (4) of the Schedule annexed to these regulations.

3. Method of recruitment, age limit and other qualifications: - The method of recruitment to the said posts, age limit, qualifications and other matters connected therewith shall be as specified in columns (5) to (13) of the said Schedule.

4. Disqualification: ─ No person;

(a) who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse living; or

(b) who having a spouse living, has entered into or contracted a marriage with any person,

shall be eligible for appointment to any of the said posts:

Provided that Government, may, if satisfied that such marriage is permissible under the personal law applicable to such person and the other party to the marriage and that there are other grounds for so doing, exempt any persons from the operation for this regulation.

5. Power to relax the provisions: - Where the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi is of the opinion that it is necessary or expedient so to do, it may, by order and for reasons to be[PART IV DELHI GAZETTE : EXTRAORDINARY 5 recorded in writing, relax any of the provisions of these rules with respect to any class or category of persons.

6. Saving: - Nothing in these regulations shall affect reservations and other concessions required to be

provided for the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Class and other special categories of persons in accordance with orders issued by the Government from time to time in this regard.

SCHEDULE

4. Pay band & grade pay/ pay scale Level-7 in the pay matrix (rs.44900 - 142400).

8. Whether age and educational Not applicable. qualification prescribed for direct recruits will apply in the case of promotes.

10. Method of recruitment whether by By promotion failing which by deputation including short -- direct recruitment, or by promotion term contract or by deputation/ absorption and percentage of the vacancies to be filled by various methods.

11. In case of recruitment by promotion/ Promotion: -Sanitary Inspector in level -6 (Rs. 35400- Rs. deputation/absorption, grades from 112400/-) in the pay matrix with five years regular service in which promotion/ deputation/ the grade and have under gone five days training in 'the absorption to be made. matters relating to sanitation in the Delhi Jal Board Institute.

Note 1:- where juniors who have completed their qualifying / eligibility service are being considered for promotion, their seniors would also be considered provided they are not short of the requisite qualifying/ eligibility service by more than half of such qualifying/ eligibility service or two years, whichever is less, and have successfully completed their probation period for promotion to the next higher grade along with their juniors who have already completed such qualifying/ eligibility service.6 DELHI GAZETTE : EXTRAORDINARY PART IV] Deputation (including short term contract):

Officials of the Central/ State Govt./ MCD/ Delhi Jal Board/ UT Administrations/ PSUs/ Universities/recognized research institutions/Semi Government or Autonomous Bodies or Statutory

Organizations: a) (i) Holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre/department; or

(ii) with five years' service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on regular basis in level-6 of the pay matrix or equivalent in the parent cadre/department; and b) possessing the following educational qualification and

experience:

(i) 12th pass from a recognized university/ board; ii) minimum one-year sanitary inspector's diploma from a recognized university/board.; iii) three years' experience as sanitary inspector in the field of sewage disposal from health and sanitation department of municipal bodies.

Note 2: The departmental officers in the feeder category who are in direct line of promotion will not be eligible for consideration for appointment by promotion. (period of deputation (istc) including period of deputation

(istc) in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organization / department of the central government shall ordinarily not to exceed three years. the maximum age limit for appointment by depuration (istc) shall not be exceeding 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.
