NOTIFICATION The draft of the following Rules to amend the Karnataka State Road Safety Authority Rules, 2023, which the Government of Karnataka proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 39 of Karnataka State Road Safety Authority Act, 2017 (Karnataka Act No. 45 of 2017) is hereby published as required by sub-section (1) of section 39 of the said Act, for the information of all persons likely to be affected thereby and notice is hereby given that the said draft will be taken into consideration after the expiry of thirty days from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.

Any objection or suggestion which may be received by the State Government from any person with respect to the said draft before the expiry of the period specified above, will be considered by the State Government. Objections and suggestions may be addressed to the Secretary to Government, Transport Department, Room No. 153, 3rd Gate, Multi Storied Building, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Veedhi, Bengaluru-560001.

DRAFT RULES

1. Short title and Commencement:- (1) These Rules may be called Karnataka State Road Safety Authority (Amendment) Rules-2026.

(2) They shall come into force from the date of their final publication in the Official Gazette.

2. Amendment of Rule 4 :- In the Karnataka State Road Safety Authority Rules, 2023, in

Rule (4), after clause (o), the following shall be inserted, namely:- “(p) Monitoring and coordination of the implementation of the scheme for Cashless Treatment of Road Accident Victims in accordance with the provisions specified under para 11 (monitoring at ground level) of Scheme guidelines notified vide S.O. 2489 (E), dated 04.06.2O25.

(q) Sensitizing the non-designated hospitals regarding the implementation of the scheme for Cashless Treatment of Road Accident Victims in accordance with the provisions specified under Para 12 (Operational support by district administration) of Scheme guidelines, notified vide S.O. 2489(E), dated 04.06.2025.

(r) Appointment of a dedicated Grievance Redressal Officer by DRSC for redressal of grievance arising from the implementation of the scheme for Cashless Treatment of Road Accident Victims in accordance with the provisions specified under Para 13 (Grievance management) of Scheme guidelines, notified vide S.O. 2489(E) dated 04.06.2025.” By order and in the name of the Governor of Karnataka (PUSHPA V.S.)
